Predictive Fit – Person to Job Match

eTalentTraks measures the applicant’s preferred work style and matches that work style to the essential work tasks of the job.

Our approach to person-job matching begins with a thorough and detailed job analysis.1 Upon completion of the job analysis, a job specific competency profile is generated. The profile indicates a weighted rating of which competencies are most critical for performance on a specific job. The method links worker tasks to preferred worker competencies which are the basis of the assessment measures. The initial validation studies2 conducted in 2005 for hourly and semi-skilled positions within the gaming and hospitality industry clearly demonstrated that when people are placed in jobs that match their preferred work style or behavior, they stay longer and are more productive.

Using the findings of the validation study, we determined that we had evidence of validity based on job content.3 Presently eTalentTraks has over 700 positions profiled in its database. Each position is supported by a job analysis and competency profile.

As an added feature the “shortlist” can then be categorized by job and sorted by score to further reduce time and effort of employment and management staff charged with recruitment and selection.

Candidate results are presented as a Personal Work Style report and a Person-Job Match report.

The Personal Work Style report summarizes the individual’s responses and indicates their Work Orientation, Dependability and Work Ethic as compared to measured norm groups. Understanding the relationship of these three critical components and how they relate to the requirements of the job greatly enhances the predictability of the person-job match process.

The Person-Job Match results rank order and present the jobs for which this candidate is best suited within the client specified categories. Categories that are standard within the software are Industry, job grouping and position fit. The results are shown with a numerical score and ranked by jobs which indicate a Best Fit, Good Fit, Acceptable Fit, and Unacceptable Fit match for the individual. This approach virtually eliminates up front training requirements and mis-interpretation of the report.

As a web-based assessment, eTalentTraks can support multiple test administrations in several languages, i.e. English, Spanish, or French.
